Napowrimo – Poetry Challenge – Day 25 – The Old Reliable

    Hey Folks,

One of my favorite things about this whole experience has been the community of poets I’ve come to meet and know. I hope it’s been a bonding experience as much as a creative one for everyone doing Napowrimo. So I brings me nothing but the greatest of pleasure to open up the Poetry Challenge today to GentlyFeral who gave us this challenge.

    Take it away GentlyFeral:

This one is in three steps, and it is my Old Reliable:

Your Twenty Fitfh Naporwrimo Poetry Challenge is:

    The Old Reliable

    1. Pick a sense image or something you can see/hear/smell happening nearby.
    2. Pick (or invent) a verse form*
    3. Pick a topic you feel strongly about: something important. But don’t hesitate to start writing before you decide.

So you might come up with: pantoum/crap game/live your dreams
    or sestina/flame/hero worship
    or plum/ghazal/social progress

*One of my best poems had 5-line stanzas, and a very sparse rhyme scheme: abcde fghie jklme – etc.

    Have fun!

    • Leave a link to your Day 25 napowrimo poem below – (it doesn’t have to be inspired by the challenge).
